What are your pronouns?
My pronouns are they/she, and I identify as a nonbinary woman.
Do you teach lessons in person or online?
All lessons are online for the foreseeable future.
How much are lessons?
Lessons are charged at a custom rate based on student needs and background. You can discuss with with me at your intro lesson or consultation.
What ages do you teach? Do you teach children?
All ages are welcome in my studio. I have experience working will all ages. The main difference will be in lesson length, with children ages 10 and under benefitting the best from half hour lessons and singers older than 10 benefitting from 45 and 60 minute lessons.
Do you offer discounts or sliding scale?
Lessons purchased in packages are at a discounted rate and I offer sliding scale to students based on individual need.
What can I expect from voice lessons?
Voice lessons offer a fun way to explore your voice with the guide of an expert. We will target breathing, alignment, resonance, pitch, as well as style and performing.
Do you offer makeup lessons?
Makeup lessons are offered when a student cannot attend a scheduled lesson and is more than 24 hours from their scheduled time or falls under unprecedented circumstances (illness, allergies, death in the family, etc.) Lessons that are missed without 24 hours of prior notice will be forfeited.
Will I get the same experience online as I will in person?
The experience of an online lesson is slightly different than that of an in person lesson, but that does not mean the quality is less. Online lessons provide the same quality of teaching from the comfort of your own home.
What can I do to ensure that I have the best possible online lesson experience?
To ensure the best lesson experience, students should have a stable internet connection (ethernet recommended), good audio and microphone quality, and a clear webcam. The built-in equipment on most laptops work just fine.
Where should I do my online lesson from?
Each student will have their own preferences as to where they like to have their lessons from, but. as long as you are in a quiet space and can we can hear each other clearly, any space is acceptable. Some places that students have logged onto their lesson from include their kitchen, their car, a closet, or a practice room at a university.
I would prefer to have an in-person lesson. Is there a way we can do that?
In-person lessons are offered to students residing on the north side of Chicago in their homes at an adjusted rate. To qualify for in-person lessons, students must have a keyboard or piano available and live within a 2-mile radius of Ravenswood.
I’m running late! What should I do?
Notify Isabella immediately either via text or email. They have a procedure they follow where they will reach out after 5 minutes have passed and then again at 10 minutes. At the 15-minute mark, they will log off and the lesson is considered forfeited, however, she will keep her email open for questions.
I missed my lesson! What now?
If you missed an intro lesson, you are allotted one free reschedule. If you miss the reschedule, then you must pay for the intro lesson again at the full lesson fee ($30).
Free consultations cannot be rescheduled. If you miss a consultation, you must fill out another form or email to schedule an intro lesson at the full lesson fee ($30).
If you missed a regular lesson, please let Isabella know what happened! If you have lessons scheduled in the future, they will see you then! If not, please feel free to schedule more lessons. Fees for missed lessons are considered forfeited and cannot be used again or refunded.
